I got an ARC of the 1st book, took me 2 years to get round to it. I had the 2nd bk by then, gobbled them both in 3 days! Agony is waiting for the other books! I told my husband to read, but he got to the kids and put it down, said he hated kids in syfy. Now when we watch, he begs me to tell what happens next, haha! I love his reactions to plot twists! Now that the show has pretty much caught up to the last book, I sit on my hands waiting for the next season. While the nudity and sex is at times excessive, one becomes jaded to it. Many men have told me they see so much of it on tv, they get to a point where they would rather not see it in the show. At times it is a necessary plot device. I have noticed the later seasons have toned it down a bit. That said, this is an amazing, exciting, addictive series, and well worth watching. Beautiful scenery, world-class actors, and a plot that takes you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions.

First it is a really good show, fun to watch. My comment to everyone blasting Itunes for not having it up quicker or releasing seasons, they can't until they obtain the distirbution rights to the show. They can't put something up just because fans are screaming for them to do it. HBO owns the distribution rights to the show, so Apple and Itunes can just put it up anytime they want. They have to buy distribution rights to get the seasons. I recently bought Season 1 just to go back and see all the people that have gotten killed off.

As one on of the fans of George R.R. Martin's books I thought this show would not live up to my expectations, but indeed has. Season 1 of Game of Thrones to me was seeing my imagination come to life, The cast, acting and special effects are great. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested and those who have/haven't read the books. Enjoy. "If you play the game of thrones you win or you die, there is no middle ground." Cercei Lannister
  • An Audience Divided

Game of Thrones has been on TV for a few years now, so posting a new review might seem impractical. Still, i decided to add my voice to the divided audience. Bottom line, Game of Thrnes is a difficult show to watch. Not because of the story of the wicked people it tells. But more so of the sex hungry characters. I get the impression, George Martin gets a rush in seeing all his characters feel an endless lust toward each other. It makes for an unrealiatic performance in the midst of a monumental war. Its because of this that i get the impression that the show cannot be taken seriously at times because the creators feel the need to be "Edgy" in order to get the audience's attention. The irony is that the show can easily manage on its own 2 feet without the implimentation of the graphic itteration. There are a million other people who might disagree with me but unless there truly is a reason for an uncomfortable scene, youre just trying too hard. And Game of Thrones tries TOO hard. Its a pity because seeing this great cast being unncessarily exposed to unnecessary scenes somewhat degrades them in my opinion. Its a fine balance watching Game of Thrones. The interest lies with who your loyalty lies with. And just as you have their bsck, they turn and do something dastardly. If you have a strong visual acceptance give it a go but be warned of the often brutal violence and gratuitous sex.
