The show was great, but the premise and execution just aren't as good. I wish it went back to the original format of the show.
  • Terrible

I absolutely loved Archer before this point, but Archer Dreamland was absolutely terrible. The whole season was garbage. It was not funny. And it was badly written. Was it written by the same people? Trite dialog trying and failing to be funny. If they want to do a film noir theme, fine, but make it funny. This was not funny. Archer is supposed to be a comedy, not a bloody depressing show. The finale was particularly depressing.
  • Update not bad

I was a little disappointed with the first couple shows but the season has really picked up and it's not too bad.
  • So far, so good, but not as good as it was...

I'm liking the fact that one episode leads to the next, but I'm still looking for a return to the season 1 or 2 setting. You can't have the world's best super spy playing detective.
  • Pay for Ads

    By mrskvall
My issue isn't with the season itself, it's with all the g-ddamn ads that come with the episodes. I don't like that I paid for these episodes to have all these ads at the beginning and ending of each episode. Isn't the point of paying for content to get it without ads? At least that's what I assmed. Do better, Apple.
  • Worst season.

    By lintila
I love Archer. Huge fan. All of the seasons have been great--except this one. Despite the venue and work changes in past seasons, the characters remained themselves and their humor, attitudes, and silliness have remained regardless of what they were up to. In season 8, that changes. The characters are actually different people and the humor just isn't there. Sorry...
  • So many questions unanswered

    By aymehr
The series has no sense of direction anymore: no hints on whether we will ever know who Archer's dad is, whatever happened to the message Nikolai Jakov left for Archer, what happened to Katya, what happened to baby Seamus, ... so many questions unanswered.

How is it that if you watch Archer on Netflix or Hulu - you don’t get ads. If you PURCHASE it to own it through iTunes - LITTERED WITH ADS! That is just backwards. Thankfully I know how to remove these ads, but the point is I shouldn’t have to! As for the show itself, we’re getting less and less Archer as a show. Last season only had 10 episodes and the whole mystery Archer may be dead thing was entirely different from the beginning episode. All the mystery build up that could have been fun to carry through the season was thrown out in favor of holding everyone on a cliffhanger to renew for more episodes or leave all of Archer ending with him dead in the pool. So OK we get “Dreamland” and I already can see it ending Wizard of Oz style “And you were there! And you and you too!” but I’m going along for the ride because the cast is AMAZING.
  • It was great, now it's just "meh"

    By Lounge Lover
The show had a winning formula. And for four seasons it worked like a charm. And then . . . then things got weird. Nowadays, while there is still some of the old genius lurking around, most of the magic is gone. It's a show desperately trying to be "original", but losing itself in the process. I still love it, but more out of a sense of duty. 😔
